The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining and restoring a variety of commercial floor surfaces to support clean, safe, and professional customer environments. This position performs specialized floor care services at assigned customer locations and requires frequent local travel between work sites.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform routine and restorative floor care services according to established schedules and procedures.
• Load, transport, and unload equipment and supplies between company vehicles and customer locations.
• Move and reset furniture before and after floor care services.
• Safely operate commercial floor care equipment, including:
• Rotary buffers and burnishers
• Carpet extractors and scrubbers
• Walk-behind and ride-on floor scrubbers
• Upright and backpack vacuums
• Pressure washers
• Follow all safety requirements related to equipment use, chemical handling, and waste disposal.
• Use a smartphone or tablet to document completed work and report issues.
• Communicate effectively with project leaders and team members.
• Complete assigned work with minimal supervision while maintaining quality standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver's license with at least six months of driving experience.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Comfortable using mobile technology for work-related communication and reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Previous floor care or janitorial experience is preferred but not required.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is preferred.

Schedule and Travel

• Full-time, flexible 40-hour workweek.
• Primarily Monday through Friday, with some weekend work required.
• Frequent travel between customer locations within the local market.
• Occasional out-of-town assignments may be required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, climb, twist, push, pull, and reach for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 to 75 pounds.
• Ability to safely operate and transport commercial floor care equipment.
• Sufficient vision and hearing to perform work safely.

This job reports to the Operations Manager

This is a Part-Time position This position supports customer projects with varying schedules. Employees must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays, as business needs dictate.

Travel is not required
