Housekeeper Position in Menlo Park, California
A warm, active family in Menlo Park is seeking an experienced, dependable, and detail-oriented Housekeeper to care for and maintain their home. The family has three young children and is looking for someone who is comfortable working in a busy family environment and takes genuine pride in keeping a home clean, organized, and running smoothly. This role is best suited to someone who brings excellent housekeeping skills along with good judgment, flexibility, strong communication, and a service-oriented mindset.
The family values someone who notices what needs attention, is comfortable shifting priorities when needed, and understands that excellent household support often includes both routine responsibilities and the occasional unexpected task. A willingness to pitch in, adapt, and help where needed is an important part of the role.
The family is primarily seeking a full-time Housekeeper and is focused on finding the right long-term fit. They have flexibility around exact start and end times and can offer the following full-time schedules:

Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 11:30 AM–7:30 PM - Alternate Full-Time Schedules:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM or Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM - The family is also open to considering a part-time schedule of approximately 4.5–6 hours per day. For part-time candidates, there is flexibility in how those hours are structured. The family can consider a consistent 4.5–6 hour shift scheduled anytime between 8:00 AM and 7:30 PM, depending on the candidate's availability and the needs of the household.
Compensation: $55–$60+/hour, dependent on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities will include:
- Thorough cleaning of the kitchen and bathrooms
- Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors
- Dusting and wiping counters, tables, furniture, fixtures, and household surfaces
- Making beds and changing bed linens
- Family laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and putting items away
- General tidying and daily resetting of rooms
- Maintaining organization throughout the home
- Cleaning mirrors, glass, sliding doors, and windows as needed
- Removing fingerprints and everyday marks from glass, doors, and other surfaces
- Proper care and cleaning of marble, natural stone, and specialty finishes
- Using appropriate cleaning products and methods for different surfaces and materials
- Monitoring household cleaning supplies and communicating when items need replenishment
- Preparing and resetting indoor and outdoor spaces when the family entertains
- Wiping outdoor tables, counters, and entertaining areas before or after guests
- Assisting with other reasonable household tasks as needs arise
The ideal candidate will be:

Trial Period:
The family would like to begin with a two-week paid trial period to ensure the responsibilities, schedule, communication style, and working relationship feel like a strong mutual fit.
Requirements:
- Have prior professional housekeeping experience in a private home or comparable environment
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Provide strong professional references
- Be comfortable completing a thorough background check
- Be physically able to perform the normal duties of residential housekeeping
