GED Math Teacher
Meriden Adult Education is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic GED Math Teacher to provide mathematics instruction to adult learners preparing to take the GED exam.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging GED mathematics instruction
- Prepare students for the Mathematical Reasoning portion of the GED test.
- Teach and reinforce foundational and higher-level math concepts
- Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs and skill levels of adult learners.
- Monitor student progress and provide additional support as needed
- Maintain student attendance and other required program records
- Create a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Communicate with Adult Education staff regarding student progress and program needs.
Qualifications:
- Experience teaching mathematics is required; experience preparing students for the GED exam is preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds
- Experience in adult education is preferred
- Must hold or be actively pursuing Connecticut Adult Education certification, endorsement 107
Schedule:
Wednesdays & Thursdays, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm Maloney High School
Salary: $45.96 per hour
