ABE Math Teacher
Meriden Adult Education is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic ABE Math Teacher to provide instruction to adult learners working to improve their mathematics skills and prepare for further education, training, employment and/or the GED exam.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging math instruction for adults at varying skill levels
- Provide instruction in foundational and higher-level math concepts
- Prepare students for the mathematics portion of the GED test, as appropriate
- Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs and learning goals of students
- Maintain student attendance and other required program records
- Create a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Communicate with Adult Education staff regarding student progress and program needs.
Qualifications:
- Experience teaching mathematics, preferably to adult learners
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds
- Experience in adult education and/or GED preparation is preferred
- Must hold or be actively pursuing Connecticut Adult Education certification, endorsement 107
Schedule:
Wednesdays & Thursdays, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm Maloney High School
Salary: $45.96 per hour
