Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on food equipment, facilities, and fixtures by following established maintenance schedules and guidelines. Inspect, clean, and repair equipment and fixtures; observe and document signs of wear and tear; determine replacement needs to reduce future repairs.
  • Perform major and minor repairs on food equipment, facilities, and fixtures using multiple craft skills (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment). Inspect, operate, and test equipment to diagnose issues, dismantle machines or facilities to access and remove defective parts, and use blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs. Use hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment; respond to emergency calls;

    document repair activities; use heavy machinery.
  • Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors by completing required written and electronic information such as expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, and maintenance logs. Conduct price comparisons of parts and travel-related costs; order parts and replacement equipment; track orders; record purchases and usage; submit costs and warranty claims.
  • Comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency regulations and guidelines; ensure work meets federal, state, and local regulations. Ensure contractors follow company quality standards and safety requirements, identify and report deficiencies, and support safe operations in varied environments.
  • Model compliance with company policies and procedures and support the company’s mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by using the Open Door Policy.
  • Participate in an on‑call rotation to support business‑critical needs outside standard business hours; respond promptly to incidents or requests and support issue resolution or appropriate escalation.
  • Operate, inspect, and maneuver heavy machinery and powered equipment (e.g., forklifts, material handling equipment, industrial machines, shop equipment, vehicles) in accordance with training, certification requirements, and safety procedures. Perform pre‑operation safety checks and post‑operation inspections to ensure equipment is safe, functional, and compliant with applicable standards; identify unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or potential hazards and take corrective action or escalating as required.
  • Maintain company vehicles in accordance with company policies; coordinate and transport vehicles for required maintenance; arrange alternate driving support; safely operate motor vehicles and ensure all required documents are present; check fuel and water levels, brake condition, signals, and lights.
  • Submit maintenance invoices for payment; verify coverage and validity of vehicle insurance.
  • Wear company uniform and badge in accordance with company policies.
  • Lead and participate in teams by using and sharing resources, information, and tools; coordinate and execute work assignments; provide advice, feedback, and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved; model and help others adapt to change or new challenges.
  • Develop, communicate, and implement processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, co‑workers, customers, and other business partners; analyze and apply information from multiple sources; monitor progress; identify and address improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrate, promote, and support compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by explaining, guiding, and demonstrating application in executing business processes and practices; implement related action plans; use the Open Door Policy; assist management with correcting ethical and compliance issues.
