Environmental Services Associate

Job Summary

We are seeking a Janitorial Cleaner to maintain patient and public areas in an Advent Health facility located at 9100 W 74th St, Shawnee Mission, Kansas 66204. The position is full‑time, day shift, and requires daily cleaning of patient rooms, offices, restrooms, and other assigned areas.

• Cleans patient and public areas daily, including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing all surfaces.
• Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions, and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary.
• Demonstrates complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and proper operation of cleaning equipment.
• Utilizes Bed Management system to maintain productive flow of bed throughput, using handheld technology for tracking.
• Uses cleaning/trash carts and other janitorial supplies.
• Collects and stages soiled linen for pick‑up.
• Disposes of normal and biohazardous waste.
• Clears and disinfects areas containing bodily fluids in accordance with facility standards.
• Documents all work performed.
• Accesses ancillary units, restrooms, and offices in assigned areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of commonly‑used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
• Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Can communicate in English.
• Basic computer skills, including use of mouse and keyboard.
• Can operate a computer using standard office software.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to interact with patients.
• Can read and understand Safety Data Sheets, product labels, various reports, and perform basic arithmetic.
• Can follow oral and written assignments and has full knowledge of basic environmental duties.
• Environmental services experience within a healthcare environment (preferred).
• Knowledge of additional languages (preferred).

• High School graduate or equivalent (preferred).
• Housekeeping or custodial experience (preferred).

$15.96 – $25.54 per hour.
