Position – Assisted Living Maintenance Assistant
Location: Bell Tower Residence – Merrill, WI (On-site)
Status: Full-time
Schedule: Day shift (times vary) – Weekend, evening and holiday on call rotation

Job Summary:Bell Tower Residence is seeking a dependable and skilled maintenance technician to assist with the overall maintenance and repair of our facility and grounds. This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents, employees and visitors.
The ideal candidate will have experience in general building maintenance, strong problem-solving abilities and a positive team-oriented attitude.

Key Responsibilities:- Perform general maintenance and repair work throughout the facility.
- Assist with preventative maintenance programs.
- Troubleshoot and repair building systems and equipment.
- Maintain safe and efficient operation of the building and grounds.
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergency calls as assigned.
- Participate in on‑call rotations as needed.
- Support compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
- Assist with annual maintenance planning and ordering of supplies.
- Work collaboratively with administration and department staff.
- Participate in staff meetings and required training programs.
- Help ensure resident safety during emergency situations, including evacuations if needed.

Qualifications:Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Wisconsin driver’s license with a good driving record
- Ability to complete all required State of Wisconsin CBRF training within 90 days of employment.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
Preferred:
- Minimum of 3 years of building maintenance experience and/or other technical training.
- Experience with plumbing, electrical systems, boiler and hot water systems, ventilation and refrigeration systems, painting and drywall repair, lawn equipment, carpentry and masonry repairs.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical documents.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond effectively in emergencies.
- Strong teamwork and customer service skills.
Physical requirements:
- Lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing and reaching.
- Use of maintenance tools and equipment.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, loud noise, chemicals and outdoor conditions.
- Employees may occasionally be exposed to cleaning chemicals, electrical hazards, moving equipment, confined spaces, ladders, roofs, crawl spaces, outdoor weather conditions and boiler room environments.
