Working Relationship
  • Reports to the Maintenance Manager
  • Communicates regularly and maintains strong relationships with team members in multiple departments
  • Communicates and meets periodically with other departmental leaders
  • Works with the Maintenance Planner to provide input for PM frequency on tasks and verifies accuracy of work orders
Responsibilities
  • Communicate and coordinate maintenance repairs as needed
  • Ensure that all equipment operates to the highest possible standards
  • Communicate with QC to ensure effective participation by maintenance technicians in the implementation of QC policies and procedures
  • Assist in hiring maintenance personnel
  • Provide maintenance personnel with proper training
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment with consideration of all who may be working in the same area
  • Direct, maintain, and enforce the safety program for the maintenance department and review safety records to uphold maximum safety for all maintenance technicians
  • Coordinate activities with the plant operations departments
  • Assist with capital projects as needed
  • Enter maintenance data in the CMMS and ensure the system is updated and accurate
  • Perform or assist in the repair of production systems, equipment, and tools
  • Monitor supplies within the maintenance shop and maintain proper inventory levels
  • Coordinate continual updating of PM program to the equipment’s specific needs
  • Identify problems and implement proper countermeasures
  • Coordinate fabrications and modifications of new and existing equipment
  • Carry cell phone as required for on-call maintenance services
  • Assist with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions
  • Assist with performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the maintenance technicians
  • Maintain and update operating/training manuals for the maintenance department
  • Supervise maintenance personnel
  • Assist in monitoring all work performed by outside contractors
  • Complete employee payroll time sheets and other administrative requirements
  • Administer employee-related communications and coaching
  • Comply with all company Quality, HACCP, GMP, and Food Safety Standards
  • Create and guide in creating SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Utilize root cause analysis tools
  • Create standard work with a time observation on how to perform any specific task
  • Assist in creating and utilizing percent loads and visuals to drive clarity and define staffing levels
  • Assist with recommending and supporting department budgets
  • Assist in creating priorities for the fabrication shop based on business needs
  • Utilize data from CMMS to drive decision making and implement countermeasures
