Position OverviewWe are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Part-Time Terminal Cleaner to join our team at a local clinic. This position is responsible for performing terminal cleaning, a thorough cleaning and disinfection process designed to prepare clinical areas for safe use by patients, staff, and visitors.
The successful candidate will follow established healthcare cleaning procedures, use approved cleaning products and equipment, and pay close attention to high-touch and frequently used surfaces. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform thorough terminal cleaning and disinfection of assigned clinic areas.
- Clean and disinfect patient rooms, treatment areas, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, and other assigned spaces.
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, including door handles, light switches, countertops, fixtures, and other frequently contacted areas.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors using appropriate cleaning methods and equipment.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, sinks, toilets, mirrors, countertops, and other restroom surfaces.
- Remove and properly dispose of trash and replace liners as needed.
- Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of waste according to facility and company requirements.
- Clean doors, glass, walls, furniture, and other surfaces as assigned.
- Restock cleaning supplies and restroom products as needed.
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to product labels, company procedures, and clinic requirements.
- Follow established infection-control, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing assigned cleaning duties.
- Report maintenance issues, damaged equipment, spills, safety hazards, or other concerns to the supervisor promptly.
- Maintain patient and facility privacy by following all clinic policies and procedures.
- Complete assigned cleaning tasks thoroughly and within established time frames.
- Maintain a professional and respectful attitude when working around patients, visitors, and clinic staff.
- Previous healthcare, terminal cleaning, commercial cleaning, or janitorial experience is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning and disinfection techniques is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Dependable, punctual, and responsible.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and professional conduct.
- Willingness to learn healthcare cleaning procedures and company standards.
- Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and required PPE.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and perform physical cleaning duties throughout the shift.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and any additional screening required by the client.
This position is performed primarily indoors in a clinical healthcare environment. Employees may work around patients, healthcare staff, visitors, cleaning chemicals, medical equipment, dust, and other materials commonly found in a clinic.
The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting. Employees must follow all clinic and FCS Services safety, sanitation, infection-control, and PPE requirements.
