Maintenance Assistant – Discovery Point
Location:
Mesa, AZ
Full‑time position. We are seeking a motivated individual to fill the role of Maintenance Assistant to support the required cleaning and minor property maintenance necessary to maintain curb appeal and the overall appearance and quality of the property.
Schedule:
40 hours/week, schedule varies.
Compensation: $18.00/hr.

Minimum Qualification Requirements- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and product use.
- Basic knowledge of building and grounds maintenance such as changing light bulbs and raking.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to speak, read and write in English.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Ability to complete company training requirements within pre‑determined deadlines and attend other training sessions as required.
- Basic computer literacy and willingness to use standard computer or web‑based technology.
- Previous janitorial, cleaning, or light building maintenance experience.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Comfortable using ladders up to 15 feet.
- Pool maintenance knowledge.
- Always represent Guardian in a positive and professional manner.
- Support supervisors’ efforts to ensure company’s obligations fully meet and exceed property management standards.
- Clean vacant apartment units as they become available.
- Walk property grounds daily to ensure grounds are clean and property has excellent curb appeal.
- Walk common areas daily, clean and maintain all common areas.
- Maintain common areas, entryways, and dumpster/recycling areas daily.
- Alert supervisor of any potential liabilities or repairs.
- Respond to all service requests and complete Work Orders, assist with apartment turnovers in a timely and professional manner.
- Keep model units in condition to show, ensuring office, maintenance work areas, grounds, and common areas are always neat and clean.
- May be required to carry a property cell phone and be on call for emergencies.
- Communicate with supervisors regarding any issues, resident questions or concerns directly brought to the Maintenance Assistant.
- Follow confidentiality guidelines for resident, property, owner, and Guardian information.
- Accurately record time worked, adhere to time‑keeping guidelines daily.
- Liaison with corporate departments to provide a collaborative approach to property management.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships between departments and coworkers.
- Constantly strive for improvements in work processes and results to better meet resident needs, ownership goals, and company standards.
- Other duties as assigned by the Community Manager, Maintenance Supervisor or Portfolio Manager.
