Part-time (29 hours per week)

Base Hourly: $17.12

Class/Calendar: A12, 12 months

New Hire

Experience:

1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a ten-year maximum

Education:

1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position

To perform custodial duties as required by district standards; to maintain the cleanliness and safe conditions of a school environment.

Perform custodial duties as required by district standards

Perform many diversified tasks each day to maintain the cleanliness and safe condition of the schools

Operate custodial power equipment

Assist in moving equipment and furniture as required

Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities

Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public School

Valid Arizona driver's license with proof of insurance and reliable transportation

Working knowledge and experience of custodial equipment, supplies, and proper cleaning procedures

High School education or GED preferred

Models the attributes and skills of the MPS Portrait of a Graduate

Demonstrates commitment to the MPS Promise that every student is known by name, served by strength and need, and graduates ready for college, career and community

Ability to perform heavy manual labor as required

Ability to organize, to prioritize and to plan day's workload

Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with staff members

Satisfactory work record

Ability to communicate effectively

Ability to work independently, under pressure and follow directions

Ability to work (travel) to a variety of school sites on a daily basis as needed

Frequent use of cleaning solutions, disinfectants, and floor treatments requires proper safety precautions

Schools can be bustling with students, teachers, and activities, requiring custodians to navigate through crowds and maintain order

Frequently bends to clean floors, pick up trash, and access low areas

Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs
