Ennismore, in partnership with Cain International, is leading a significant renovation and redevelopment of the hotel.
Job OverviewUnder the general guidance of the Assistant Director of Engineering, the Maintenance Engineer III is responsible for maintaining and repairing all building equipment, systems, and components, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, and the hotel’s swimming pools. The role ensures smooth operation of property maintenance through skilled troubleshooting, multi‑trade expertise, and adherence to safety standards, thereby maintaining optimal guest safety, comfort, and equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general building maintenance, including repairs and upkeep of guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house equipment to ensure a safe and clean environment.
- Inspect and test machinery and equipment, diagnosing issues by listening to unusual sounds and observing operations to prevent breakdowns.
- Maintain the physical structure of the hotel, including walls, floors, doors, and windows, ensuring safety and quality.
- Perform general maintenance of water feature systems, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces.
- Repair and replace defective machinery parts to restore full functionality promptly.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment and systems, accurately documenting all activities in maintenance logs.
- Troubleshoot and repair commercial kitchen equipment to support uninterrupted food service operations.
- Respond promptly to guest and departmental maintenance requests, ensuring high satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Communicate with maintenance supervisors and management regarding projects, repairs, and safety issues.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on safety protocols and company standards.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth hotel operations.
- Respond quickly to emergencies like fires and power outages to protect guests, staff, and property.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors to support maintenance and hotel operations.
- Recognize that the hospitality industry may require lateral service and perform various related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional guest service.
- High school diploma or equivalent education required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience in building maintenance or engineering within a hotel, resort, or similar environment.
- Knowledge of general building maintenance, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and mechanical repairs.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing electrical wiring, lighting fixtures, motors, pumps, and HVAC equipment.
- Proficient in diagnosing equipment malfunctions and performing timely repairs to minimize downtime.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Experience with preventive maintenance procedures and maintaining accurate maintenance logs.
- Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment repair and maintenance.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, OSHA standards, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools necessary for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with supervisors, vendors, and other departments.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond quickly to emergency maintenance issues.
- Physically capable of performing manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
- Basic computer skills for logging maintenance work and managing work orders.
- All team members must maintain a neat, clean, and well‑groomed appearance. Specific department uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained by your supervisor.
