Maintenance​/Janitorial Associate

Job Overview

As a Maintenance Staff Member, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical systems and equipment are operational and properly maintained, and that all common areas are kept clean, aesthetically appealing, and disinfected.

• Routine walk of floors and roof inspection for problems and lights; report back to supervisors.
• Follow safety precautions while performing work.
• Maintain working relationship with building staff.
• Paint all common areas and touch up as required; inspect areas that need paint and advise manager.
• Complete daily work orders as scheduled.
• Maintain assigned equipment in good working condition.
• Perform casual labor, such as lifting/moving heavy items as directed by supervisors, following safety procedures.
• Perform minor maintenance replacement and repairs in carpentry, electrical work, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, painting, flooring, and other building repairs through daily scheduled work orders.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
• Perform maintenance replacement and repair tasks that do not require a permit.
• Use new equipment safely and follow safety procedures prior to use.

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• At least 2 years general experience in building trades, repair, and replacement maintenance or handy work.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
• Multiple language fluency is desirable.
• Valid Florida driver’s license.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs following appropriate safety procedures.
• Work in an upright standing position for long periods; reach overhead; full range of mobility in upper and lower body.
• Work in various positions (stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, squatting) for extended periods.
• Climb ladders and work at heights above ground level (maximum 14 ft on A-frames and 21 ft on extension ladders).
• Work in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, humidity).
• Repeat motions with wrists, hands, and fingers.
• Occasionally lift, pull, and push materials and equipment up to 50 lbs to complete assigned tasks.
• Communicate, receive, and exchange ideas orally and in writing.

Tuesday - Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.; off Sunday and Monday (Tuesday and Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)

$20 per hour.
