Maintenance Support Worker

Job Summary

Provides assistance to locksmith(s) in the maintenance and/or replacement of broken parts; exit device and rods and latches. Provides assistance to locksmith(s) in cutting keys on key cutting machine from original or from manufacturers' code when original is not available.

• Provides assistance to locksmith(s) in the maintenance and/or replacement of broken parts; exit device and rods and latches. Provides assistance to locksmith(s) in cutting keys on key cutting machine from original or from manufacturers' code when original is not available. Issues university keys.
• Assist with changing batteries in offline and online access control devices. Assist with programming offline card readers. Learn basic SMS functions which related to assigned duties. Assist with loading offline card reader data onto SD card using offline lock interface. Assist with responding to telephone inquiry during office associates absences.
• Operates a motor vehicle or cart to transport and pick up supplies needed to perform responsibilities of this position.
• Unlocks various tools and/or equipment such as doors, padlocks, desks, and cabinets when assigned keys to university personnel are not available.
• Performs essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, storms, and/or any other university emergency closing. Is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification of a department administrator.
• Performs other related duties and tasks related university operations or requirements as may be required by Facilities Management administration and other university administrators.

Completion of 8th grade.
