Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Position Summary
Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co‑workers, customers, and other partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback. Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans;
using the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices.
- Perform basic to intermediate inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs and replacements on Walmart equipment such as trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, and service vehicles.
- Create and process work orders, assess maintenance repair and replacement needs, identify needed parts and possible solutions, select the best solution, and conduct maintenance repairs and replacements.
- Repair and replace brake system components (air anti‑skid system, ABS disc brakes), replace leaky wheel seals, dismount/install tractor‑trailer tires following DOT guidelines.
- Communicate with customers, suppliers, associates verbally and in writing, and complete work orders, records, logs and other documents per established procedures.
- Receive fuel drops, conduct fuel sampling, monitor drops for safety compliance, check tank levels before and after drops, prepare samples for analysis and shipping, and complete paperwork.

- Valid state‑issued driver’s license.
- Brake inspection qualification as defined in FMCSA regulations, Section 396.25.
- Vehicle inspection qualification as defined in FMCSA regulations, Section 396.19.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- ASE Certification.
- DOT Transportation Certification.
