Custodian

Overview

We have an immediate need to hire Custodians for several different shifts. Please submit your resume and complete our online application to be considered to join our team. Founded by Detroit philanthropists George and Ellen Booth in 1904, Cranbrook Educational Community is one of the world’s leading centers of education, science, and art. The campus is located in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

• Clean and maintain floors, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, stripping, waxing, and shampooing carpets.
• Wash windows and walls.
• Clean/disinfect bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, floors, etc.
• Dust and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Perform miscellaneous maintenance duties, e.g., change light bulbs, empty trash, hang decorations, and supply paper towel and tissue dispensers.
• Pick up debris and litter on grounds.
• Remove snow and ice from stairs and entrance ways to buildings during winter months.

• Valid Michigan driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Experience in the use and maintenance of building and cleaning equipment and tools desirable.
• Experience in the use of cleaning chemicals and solvents desirable.
• Previous institutional custodial experience desirable.

• Monday – Friday, 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm
• Monday – Friday, 4:00 pm – 12:30 am
• Monday – Wednesday, 3:30 pm – Midnight
• Saturday/Sunday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

Rate of pay is $18.20/hour. Afternoon shift and weekend shift are eligible for a $1.00 per hour shift premium.
