Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday through Friday 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm)

Salary: Step One Through 6‑30‑26: $19.50 + $2.00 position differential (after 7‑1‑26: $21.60 + $2.00 position differential)
Position Summary
Coordinate and direct custodial services at assigned sites to ensure an attractive, sanitary, and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors. Perform special cleaning operations and assist in preparing facilities for classroom activities and building events.
Responsibilities include shift coverage if needed, responding to buildings for emergencies, locking/unlocking as needed, assisting and training custodial staff, and responding to district security and fire alarms.
Essential Functions- Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; replace light bulbs; refill restroom dispensers; wash windows.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures.
- Inspect and perform minor maintenance of playground equipment as needed by grade level building.
- Help daily set up and tear down lunchroom tables if needed; remain present during lunch periods if providing shift coverage.
- Assist with inventory and monitoring the use of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Set up facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, and events.
- Strip, clean, buff, and apply floor sealer and finish to hard surface floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
- Perform grounds clean up and snow removal as needed.
- Help maintain building and door security.
- Assist custodial staff with building maintenance and develop a daily custodial plan.
- Work collaboratively with building staff.
- Create positive relationships with students, staff members, and all building stakeholders.
- Help schedule personnel for scheduled events and activities.
- Help train staff members in proper use of equipment and supplies.
- Other duties assigned by the building administrator or Operations Supervisor.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Thorough working knowledge of custodial work, including cleaning methods and materials and the use of custodial equipment equivalent to that gained in at least one year of experience or a combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience working in sanitation, custodial, or maintenance positions preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with department team members, local travel within the school district, goal‑setting ability, organizational skills, creative problem‑solving ability, systematic planning, and the ability to plan for future needs.
- Previous custodial experience is preferred but not required.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. The use of ladders, power equipment, and other hand tools is a requirement of this position.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus, especially due to concentration on a computer screen and small numbers.
The employee may be exposed to a variety of conditions including wet or humid environments, work near moving parts, work in high precarious places, a variety of cleaning agents, some hazardous chemicals and fumes, outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The employee may be exposed to bodily fluids and blood borne pathogens.
