Job Summary:The Facilities Team Member
is responsible for supporting the facilities team in the repair, maintenance, and safety of the Daily Deals Food Outlet stores and corporate office. This role serves as the point of contact for facility-related issues and emergencies, coordinates repairs and preventative maintenance activities, and partners with external vendors to ensure facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This position works alongside other facilities team members, providing training and guidance to promote process consistency, improve team knowledge, and maximize effectiveness.
This position ensures store locations operate safely, efficiently, and effectively by building strong relationships with store leadership and providing responsive facility support.
- Maintains the buildings by performing and supervising minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical work, roof repairs, and carpentry. Acts as a backup in coordinating with contractors and vendors to schedule and oversee repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections.
- Oversees grounds maintenance, including trimming, brush removal, mowing, weed control, and snow/ice removal. Ensures proper repair of driveways, fences, signs, and security systems.
- Leads or assists in safety and operational checks on emergency equipment as required by the Safety Committee, insurance companies, and local, state, and federal agencies. Is familiar with and acts in accordance with USDA, FDA, and MDARD regulations.
- Maintains accurate documentation, including maintenance logs, safety reports, and inspection records.
- Serves as the main contact for facilities-related issues at all Daily Deals retail locations. Responds to and resolves facility-related emergencies promptly, including after-hours issues as needed.
- Performs basic maintenance and minor repairs on forklifts, hi-los, and other industrial equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Coordinates more extensive repairs with external service providers as needed.
- Serves as the backup for diagnosing and performing minor repairs or troubleshooting of production equipment ensuring minimal disruption to production operations.
- Performs other duties as required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; technical certifications preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
- Possess a valid driver’s license. Periodic travel to off-site locations is required in this position.
- Required to obtain and maintain electric pallet jack, forklift, and scissor lift certifications.
- Possess a basic mechanical aptitude, including the ability to understand and work with basic building systems, utilize basic tools effectively, and follow mechanical processes to troubleshoot, assemble, or maintain equipment as needed.
- Basic knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security systems.
- Proficient in basic math skills, such as arithmetic, fractions, decimals, and basic geometry, used in measurements, conversions, and problem-solving.
- Able to follow established procedures and carry out complex duties with minimal supervision. Able to assess and troubleshoot problems and take appropriate corrective action.
- Able to work as a team member and establish effective and cooperative working relationships while using tact, good judgment, and resourcefulness.
- Skilled in planning, organizing, and scheduling resources and activities. Has a strong attention to detail, follows through on tasks, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with all stakeholders, both in written and verbal formats. Coordinates work efforts with all stakeholders.
