Facilities Coordinator

Are you a hands‑on problem solver with a knack for maintenance, organization, and leadership? Do you enjoy working behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly? The Middlebury Natural Foods Co‑op is looking for a Facilities Coordinator to help ensure our store and grounds are clean, safe, and well‑maintained for staff, customers, and the community.

• Oversee and perform maintenance and repair of store equipment and systems
• Coordinate with outside contractors for services like snow removal, landscaping, and pest control
• Monitor and maintain safety, cleanliness, and compliance across the store and grounds
• Operate equipment such as forklifts and balers safely and efficiently
• Keep accurate records, help develop preventative maintenance schedules, and innovate solutions to improve our facilities
• Support staff, provide excellent service, and contribute to a positive work culture

• Building maintenance experience and strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Familiarity with tools, equipment, and safety practices
• Comfortable working indoors, outdoors, and at heights or in tight spaces
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly, stand for long periods

• Knowledge of refrigeration and mechanical systems
• Forklift or heavy equipment experience
• Familiarity with natural foods and interest in food systems

Seeking evening and weekend availability, this is a full‑time, 32‑40 hour position. Shifts are Sunday through Thursday.

Starting pay is $25‑$30, depending on experience.
