Assembly Technician C; 1st shift xMon-Thurs

Job Description

Pratt & Whitney is a world leader in the design, manufacture and service of aircraft engines and auxiliary power systems. This position is for 1st shift. Hours are Monday - Thursday 4:42am - 3:12pm.

• Under direction of a leader/supervisor, follow assembly drawings and/or specifications and computer information systems to prepare parts and build subassemblies, modules and accessories for new gas turbine engines where tooling and process methods are established.
• Assist with engine test operations and perform component and accessory tests as assigned.
• Use overhaul and repair procedures and specifications to perform the mechanical work required to overhaul engines, modules and related components.
• Obtain parts, inspect details for conformance to assembly requirements, and fit and measure components to ensure overall dimensions are within specified limits.
• Operate mechanic’s hand tools, hold fixtures, and use specialized assembly equipment to build engine sections, perform installations of details, and maintain equipment and tooling for assigned areas.
• Provide related support for test operations and assist with testing under direct supervision and specific test schedules.
• Assist with co-producer, customer support or other similar programs, retrofit projects, new engine programs, and accommodate changes in specifications.

High School Diploma or Equivalent & formal training in a specialized field achieving an A&P license or equivalent, OR 4 years of technical high school including technical post‑high school certification and 5+ years of heavy‑automotive experience.

We Prefer:

• Experience as an aerospace mechanic or A&P mechanic.
• 3+ years of avionics mechanic experience.
• Priority consideration is given to candidates who are INTERNAL (and recall) to the Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit members of District Lodge 26 and Affiliated Locals 700 and 1746 (Connecticut Operations).
  In compliance with the collective bargaining agreement.
