Millwright

Job Description

The Millwright position will be located in Midland, Michigan at the Dow Chemical Plant Headquarters. This job will consist of installing, removing, testing and troubleshooting R&D equipment. The Millwright will interact and communicate on a periodic basis with research customers and scientists. The Millwright will help design, test and provide results to help researchers make decisions on research processes and equipment designs for the labs and field testing.

• Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Dismantle machinery, establish best removal process or relocation procedure.
• Construct foundations for new machinery.
• Align machinery and equipment.
• Assemble machines, bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fasten to foundation or other structures.
• Read blueprints and specifications to determine job requirements.
• Repair and lubricate machine and equipment.

• Vocational or Technical Certificate or some college level courses in related field, or a combination of vocational certification and on the job experience. Minimum of 2‑5 years of vocational training or job experience or combination of both.
• Must have a current valid driver’s license and working knowledge of plant safety and OSHA safety requirements.
