TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. Work Year:
The employee will be expected to work all school days, institutes, and 8 additional days during the summer for a total of 188 days.
2. Fringe Benefits:

JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION:
District Supervisor Mathematics
LOCATION:
Bremen High School
REPORTS TO:
Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning
GENERAL DUTIES:
* To assist in maintaining high quality services for staff, students, parents, and community members who utilize the services assigned to this position.
* To assist immediate supervisor in carrying out the duties assigned to that position.
* To strive for positive and collegial public relations with the staff, students, parents and community members.
* To maintain confidentiality in all areas assigned to this position.
* To act as a role model for students and staff and to provide leadership in the areas assigned to this position that meets the needs of students and staff, and parents.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A master's degree.
2. An Administrative K-12 certificate endorsed for General Supervisory or General Administration.
3. Valid teacher certification for high school.
4.
Experience with integrated math, preferred.
5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Possess the ability to speak clearly and be understood by others.
* Possess the ability to write legibly.
* Possess the ability and have received the training to effectively operate a computer, using a PC platform.
* Demonstrate the physical capabilities and energy level to execute the duties assigned to this position.
* Demonstrate the ability to calmly address individuals using the services offered by the position.
* Possess an acceptable attendance history in prior positions and demonstrate the ability to meet the daily attendance requirements of the designated position.
* Possess a successful work history, supported by references, in a work setting similar to the position for which the candidate is applying.
* Demonstrate the ability to practice confidentiality with sensitive information.
* Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to assist in establishing a positive climate in the work environment.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Promotes and holds pre-service and in-service education training in assigned curricular areas.
2. Coordinates departmental curricular revision, rewriting, and course distribution.
3. Acts as an instructional leader for the department teachers regarding curriculum, instruction and learning.
4. Leads the assessment process for the department.
5. Assists in evaluating teacher performance and confers with the principal regarding department personnel.
6. Advises the principal on the placement of department teachers (course assignment).
7. Works with the principal on the recruitment, screening, and hiring of department personnel.
8. Works with Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning to improve teacher instruction.
9. Prepares special reports to teachers, the superintendent, and the Board on the status of regular and special programs in assigned curricular areas.
10. Keeps informed on educational innovations and trends as they relate to department.
11. Participates in those activities that lead to continued professional growth.
12. Meets with other department supervisors to promote interdisciplinary programs.
13. Assists in identifying and utilizing community resources for the department program.
14. Attends relevant schools, district, and professional meetings.
15. Informs the associate principal concerning general school equipment.
16. Prepares and administers the budget for assigned departments.
17. Maintains an up-to-date inventory of department materials.
18. Manages the department supplies, textbooks, equipment, and supplementary materials.
19. Plans, organizes, and presides over cluster and departmental teacher meetings for assigned curricular areas.
