Job Summary:
The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) facilitates the operative or other invasive procedure by preparing and providing the required sterile instruments, supplies and equipment alongside the surgical team. You will support surgeons and nurses with preparation for aseptic technique and surgical procedures in the operating room.
- Prepare and organize the operating room to support surgical procedures efficiently.
- Uphold strict aseptic techniques and ensure compliance with infection control standards.
- Provide essential instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants.
- Manage surgical equipment meticulously throughout each procedure.
- Track and maintain necessary supplies, confirming operational readiness for every procedure.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgical staff, promoting seamless care.
- Keep precise records and counts during surgical interventions.
Qualifications to Consider:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program is essential.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Licensure and Certifications
Required:
- Current CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) credential is a must.
- BLS certification or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of hiring.
