Qualification- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or an equivalent combination of education, IT experience, and/or certifications.
- Experience serving as a computer technician or helpdesk.

The Application Specialist – Power School provides technical, administrative, and operational support for the district’s Power School environment. This position manages user security, system configurations, custom pages, fields, imports, exports, reports, and workflows that support efficient school and district operations. The specialist collaborates with administrators, counselors, office staff, technology staff, and the Power School team to support annual setup processes, troubleshoot system issues, improve data accuracy, and develop reporting tools that support teaching, learning, and decision‑making.
The role also helps district and building administrators identify effective ways to use Power School to meet their operational and instructional goals.
- Manage Power School security roles, user access, and security groups to ensure appropriate permissions.
- Create, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Power School pages, screens, fields, forms, and administrative workflows.
- Manage Power School imports and exports, including scheduled data transfers and operational data files.
- Support Registration integration in Power School Enrollment.
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Power School reports to support administrators and staff.
- Collaborate with school teams to identify reporting needs across teaching, learning, and operational areas.
- Assist in annual Power School school‑year setup with the Power School team and district leadership.
- Manage custom fields, pages, and configurations that improve operational efficiency.
- Review and improve Power School workflows to reduce manual effort and increase data accuracy.
- Serve as a district‑level technical and administrative support resource for administrators and key office staff.
- Help administrators identify the best use of Power School to support goals and initiatives.
- Troubleshoot access, configuration, data integrity, reports, imports, exports, and user workflows.
- Coordinate with Power School support, third‑party vendors, and internal tech staff to resolve system issues and implement improvements.
- Maintain documentation for processes, security roles, customizations, reports, imports, exports, and annual setup procedures.
- Provide training and guidance to district and building staff on Power School tools, workflows, and best practices.
- Monitor system use, data quality, and operational needs to recommend improvements.
