Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Midlothian, IL

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity providing essential Sign Language Interpretation for an elementary student this summer. Located near Midlothian, IL, this assignment runs from July 6th to July 23rd, with hours scheduled Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. As a dedicated 1:1 interpreter for a young learner, youll play a crucial role in supporting communication and access to education.

• Valid EIPA score of 4.0 or higher required
• Proven expertise as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in school settings
• Strong command of American Sign Language (ASL) and total communication approaches
• Experience working 1:1 with elementary-age students
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with school staff
• Professionalism and flexibility within fast-paced educational environments

• Provide real-time interpretation for an elementary student during classroom activities and school interactions
• Facilitate understanding and participation in both academic and social settings
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to optimize inclusion strategies
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards at all times
• Offer feedback on student communication progress as needed
