Contract:
Temporary, 245 days per school year, 8 hours per day. Grade 20: $14.56-$16.31 per hour. Apply online.
Serve and maintain all buildings and grounds in a clean, safe, and professional manner to provide positive educational experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership: Direct team toward custodial objectives and teach all aspects of cleaning operations.
- Cleaning: Floor care (vacuum, buff, burnish, strip, carpet care), clean restrooms, empty trash, other cleaning as assigned.
- Security: Secure/unlock buildings as needed, monitor premises for inappropriate activity.
- Grounds Maintenance: Mow, edge, weed-eat, pick up trash, empty outside trash containers.
- Bad Weather Duties: Remove snow and ice, determine facility damages, report findings; expected to report to work on bad weather days.
- Energy Management: Maintain and facilitate all aspects of the Energy Management program within the building.
- Other Duties: Assigned by supervisory staff to provide service, security, safety, and quality to students, staff, and faculty.
- High School Diploma or GED including basic math.
- Basic computer skills, clear oral and written communication.
- Ability to read and comprehend procedures and regulations, organize and plan effectively.
- Preference for candidates with up to 2 years custodial experience, floor care, and/or general maintenance.
Regular: stand or walk for long periods, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, balance, climb, see, talk, and hear. Occasional: reach with hands and arms fully extended, lift/move up to 50 lbs, work at heights up to 35 feet.
Essential Job Functions- Direct team and mentor employees, maintain quality standards.
- Execute all cleaning procedures, maintain equipment, report maintenance needs.
- Secure facilities, monitor safety equipment, ensure compliance with OSHA and district policies.
- Maintain supplies, manage costs, ensure proper chemical handling.
- Assist with Energy Management program, scheduled shutdowns, conserve settings.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, meet deadlines, handle multiple priorities.
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, parents and community.
- Maintain professional appearance and attendance; ready for inclement weather.
- Document workplace injuries, submit safety reports, use PPE.
- Efficiency: complete assignments timely and neatly.
- Communication: give and receive instructions, listen, cooperate with others.
- Integrity: handle confidential information appropriately, accept responsibility.
- Judgment and decision making: make timely decisions, seek input.
- Planning: prioritize work, coordinate with other employees, manage key access.
- Leadership: train and mentor team, conduct informal inspections.
- IT: PC literate, use Windows, data entry, email, electronic files.
