Custodian - Maintenance

Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) has been providing quality service since 1957. We are one of the largest facility service providers in the State of Hawaii. We currently perform janitorial building services, mechanical engineering, HVAC and maintenance services for numerous commercial, retail and residential properties on Oahu, Kauai, Maui and the Big Island.

  Saturday and Sunday, 5:30am to 2:00pm
• Compensation: $17.50 per hour

• Maintain high standard of cleanliness: sweep, dust, mop, vacuum, remove/dispose trash, clean/wipe down areas, use ladder to access elevated areas.
• Empty trash receptacles, wastebaskets, recyclables and properly dispose to designated areas.
• Restock cleaning supplies.
• Climb onto the roof using a ladder.
• Paint the facility.
• Patch potholes in the parking lot to ensure a safe and smooth surface.
• Multi-task, work efficiently both independently and as a team.
• Follow safety procedures.
• Uphold a high standard of professionalism and customer service at all times.
• Communicate effectively with supervisor, co‑workers, vendors and property manager.
• Report safety issues or building problems (e.g., burnt light bulbs).
• Notify appropriate HBM employees of the supplies and equipment needed for cleaning duties.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor or property management.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must pass HBM prescreen check.
• Previous janitorial, custodian or related experience preferred, and willingness to train.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Good public relations skills and communication.
• Must perform basic manual labor: clean common areas, push, press, frequently lift, pull, carry a minimum of 50 lbs, reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk, use stairs and ladder, stand throughout shift.
