Our animal vaccine facility in Millsboro, Delaware is experiencing dynamic growth to support the global poultry production supply chain. The site has been selected as the Center of Excellence for Poultry and Freeze Dried Vaccines, and we are looking for high‑energy, novel‑thinking individuals to support the site’s long‑term journey.
We have a current opening for an HVAC Maintenance Technician that will be a critical element for building a high‑performance, proactive organization. A signing bonus will be part of the total compensation package to attract the highest caliber of talent.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair process control and environmental control HVAC systems
- Operational performance & regulatory compliance owner for all site HVAC equipment. Classes of equipment include Ultra‑Cold Freezers, Process Chillers
- Provides timely feedback and coordination to site customers regarding the status of HVAC system
- Ensures appropriate spare parts inventories are established and maintained
- Support investigations resulting from abnormal equipment performance
- Actively supports safety initiatives including shop floor audits, lock‑out/tag‑out, line break, and confined space permitting
- Provides training to others, as required
- Responsible for working as part of an inclusive, high‑performance team to achieve site mission, vision, and goals through efficient and safe operation of equipment and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices
- High School Diploma (required)
- A.S. degree in a technical discipline (preferred)
- Two (2)+ years experience working with refrigeration equipment
- Five (5)+ years’ experience with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
- Experience with general plumbing and pipe fitting work
- Experience with electrical controls for HVACR systems
- Ability to read and interpret blue‑prints/schematics in electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics or mechanical systems
- Valid driver's license
- Universal refrigerant license required
- Must be able to meet all physical requirements associated with this job, including but not limited to: lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs, working from ladders and elevated platforms
- Participate in the on‑call rotation
- Experience working within OSHA General Industry standards including hot work and lock‑out tag‑out
- Biotech / pharmaceutical GMP manufacturing industry experience
- Experience with –70 C Ultra Cold Freezers, Freeze Driers and Liquid Nitrogen equipment
- Experience with gas furnaces and gas heaters
- Experience in Biopharmaceutical processing equipment including freeze driers, ultra‑cold freezers and incubators
- Working knowledge of an automated building management system (Siemens and JCI)
- Experience supporting a fast‑paced manufacturing environment is an advantage
- Strong team, flexibility, motivation and trouble‑shooting skills, with a strong emphasis around safety and compliance practices
- Proficient with CMMS utilization
- Experience with chilled water systems
- Journeyman Card or Master HVACR License
- Experience with walk‑in coolers or walk‑in freezers
