Job Summary

The Facilities Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at a Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee location. This individual will ensure the facilities at one BGCGM location is well‑maintained and complies with health and safety standards, creating a positive experience for youth, staff, and visitors. This role supports one location on the South Side of Milwaukee.

-11 P.M

Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance
    :
  • Perform daily cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing all areas of the facilities (restrooms, offices, gymnasiums, and common areas).
  • Empty and dispose of trash and recycling from all designated areas.
  • Ensure all restrooms are stocked with supplies (toilet paper, soap, hand towels, etc.).
  • Safety and Compliance
    :
  • Use cleaning supplies and equipment according to safety guidelines.
  • Identify and report maintenance issues (e.g., plumbing, electrical, or HVAC concerns) to the Facilities & Safety Manager.
  • Follow safety protocols to prevent hazards or accidents.
  • Facility Oversight
    :
  • Maintain the inventory of cleaning supplies and notify the Facilities & Safety Manager when restocking is necessary.
  • Set up and break down spaces for special events or programs as requested.
  • Lock and secure facilities after hours when necessary.
Education Requirements
  • None required
Experience Requirements
  • Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work. Preferably over 2 years.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Attention to detail and dedication to creating a clean and safe environment for youth.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must have a valid WI driver’s license, good driving record, and meet state required automobile insurance minimums.
