Starting Wage Range: $19.32 – $21.26 per hour

Shift Schedule- Monday - Friday: 9:00am – 5:30pm OR 2:00pm – 10:30pm, with every 8th weekend on dayshift

- Keep rest rooms clean/disinfected and supplied with soap, towels, and tissues.
- Sweep, mop, and buff floors in offices, hallways, and other facilities.
- Perform scheduled floor maintenance including scrubbing, buffing, stripping and refinishing.
- Wash windows, screens, walls, and light fixtures.
- Empty garbage and other trash receptacles; separate recyclables.
- Perform set‑up, take‑down, and cleaning of all meeting rooms and areas.
- Dust, clean, and polish furniture.
- Sanitize high‑touch areas.
- Vacuum, shampoo, and do spot cleaning on carpeting.
- Assist with snow removal for sidewalks involving snow blower operation, shoveling, and spreading salt.
- Carry out routine tasks such as raising flag, assisting with deliveries, etc.
- Make minor repairs to custodial equipment.
- Perform related work throughout the County’s facilities as assigned.
- Operate grounds vehicles and snow removal equipment.
- Ensure all work is done according to standard practices, design specifications, and County and local building codes.
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in a safe manner; adhere to all County safety regulations; ensure all regulations pertaining to the safe use of equipment are understood and followed.
- Report all accidents to the appropriate authority. Follow all policies for reporting.
- Provide backup assistance to other department personnel as needed.
- Maintain appropriate records including complete equipment repair history, work orders, daily job card, and other related data.
- Disinfect affected areas to eliminate potential health risks and ensure a safe environment, which could include bio‑hazardous materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of various cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, cleaners and sweepers, buffers, vacuums, brooms, shovels and other hand tools.
- Knowledge of safe operation and maintenance of tools, equipment, and facility systems.
- Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment.
- Knowledge of the operation, care, and repair of maintenance equipment and tools.
- Working knowledge of occupational hazards (OSHA) and safe work practices.
- Knowledge of the policies and procedures of the County.
- Ability to establish and maintain accurate records of assigned activities and operations.
- Ability to interpret and implement local policies and procedures; written instructions, general correspondence;
Federal, State, and local regulations. - Skill in organizational and time management to prioritize duties to accomplish a high volume of work product while adapting to constant changes in priority.
- Ability to perform detailed work accurately and independently in compliance with stringent time limits requiring minimal direction and supervision.
- Ability to think quickly, maintain self‑control, and adapt to stressful situations.
- Knowledge of computer software including word processing and database applications consistent for this position.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations required of this position.
- Ability to understand and effectively carry out verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to apply sound judgment and discretion in performing duties, resolving problems, and interpreting policies and regulations.
- Ability to communicate detailed and often sensitive information effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing.
