The Denver Public Library (DPL) is seeking five Night Custodians to maintain welcoming and safe library environments across our branches.

Unlimited Salary Range: $19.29 - $24.11 Target Pay

- Perform routine interior custodial duties, including mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and using mechanical floor cleaners for polishing, buffing, stripping, and waxing floors.
- Carry out exterior custodial and maintenance tasks such as snow removal, mowing lawns, pulling weeds, watering plants and lawns, raking leaves, picking up litter, clearing dumpster areas, and operating light machinery powered by small engines.
- Remove waste and soiled linens, dispose of trash and hazardous materials safely.
- Clean and disinfect all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls in kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms, locker rooms, weight rooms, holding cells, and other work areas; restock supplies as needed.
- Move furniture within library buildings to support staff and patron needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and prepared environment for both customers and staff.
- Knowledge of cleaning materials and operation of custodial equipment.
- Ability to perform routine and repetitive manual tasks for extended periods; physically demanding work involving continuous bending, kneeling, and lifting objects up to 25–50 pounds.
- Follow simple written or oral instructions accurately.
- Work effectively with a diverse group of people and independently.
- Willingness to learn basic workplace technology, including email and internet.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- High school diploma or GED, HiSET, or TASC Certificate. One decade of appropriate experience may substitute for the education requirement.
This role will support the Central Library Branch but may require redeployment to any other DPL branch as operational needs dictate.
