Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, HVAC Tech / Heating Engineer
Overview
This position involves day-to-day responsibilities in the MCW buildings and minimal supervised responsibilities in more intricate repair and replacement aspects of HVAC and other research building mechanical systems.
Primary Responsibilities- Troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems to keep buildings running efficiently.
- Performing regular preventative maintenance to avoid breakdowns and ensure consistent performance.
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical issues related to HVAC equipment.
- Monitoring system performance and making adjustments to improve energy efficiency.
- Collaborating with the facilities team to support general building maintenance.
- Responding promptly to maintenance requests and ensuring minimal disruption to daily campus operations.
- Keeping your working area safe, using appropriate safety equipment and following established safety policies and procedures.

Physical RequirementsWork requires heavy physical effort, but not for continuous periods requiring endurance.
Work EnvironmentContinuous exposure to working conditions requiring protective clothing. Work is often not performed in a controlled environment.
Sensory AcuityAbility to detect and translate speech or other communication requirements. May occasionally require the ability to distinguish colors and perceive relative distances between objects.
