Shop Technician

Position Summary The position of the Shop Technician is a support position for the Sanitation Technicians at our St. Paul (Little Canada) location. In support of the company mission the Shop Technician position will include cleaning sanitation equipment, equipment preventative maintenance, cleaning and organizing the workshop, storage areas (inside and outside), and general building and grounds maintenance. The Shop Technician position will have interactions with diverse teammates throughout each day and as such will be expected to provide professional, courteous service to all individuals they may have contact with.

Part-time position with 4-day work weeks from 7:30am - 2:30pm

• Clean all rental units as they return to the yard
• Ensure brand image consistency with placement of stickers and ensuring our units are branded appropriately and fully functioning
• Conduct maintenance and repairs on damaged/broken equipment
• Restock all route trucks each day to be prepared for the next day’s business needs
• Navigate tight spaces and park all vehicles in our shop; driving in the yard and backing up effectively is essential in this role
• Organize the units, trucks, yard, and shop and maintain organizational systems
• Provides input to improve position efficiencies
• Communicate with internal customers in a positive, friendly, professional manner at all times.
• Work with all company departments to meet the needs of the customers.
• Maintain a clean/safe/organized work area at all times
• Follow all company/federal/state safety requirements
• Show vigilance as it pertains to a safe working environment and instruct co-workers, guests, vendors if safety violations occur
• Maintains teamwork with employees by balancing team and individual responsibilities
• Ability to conduct preventative maintenance on equipment

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a Team and is open to direction from supervisor(s)

• Safely climb in and out of trucks and equipment
• Safely walk and stand for extended periods of time on cement in a garage that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery
• Safely walk, reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel as necessary to perform the job duties.
• Ability to work in the elements of all 4 seasons to include adverse and inclement weather
• Push/pull/lift up to 100 lbs on a regular basis, 150 lbs on an occasional basis
