Shop & Lot Attendant

We currently have an opening for a Shop & Lot Attendant in our Brooklyn Center, Minnesota location. The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, be a self-starter, and have some mechanical aptitude. The position is full-time, Monday - Friday, 1st shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage the flow of inbound and outbound equipment in the lot, ensuring all product is in the proper location.
• Keep the equipment in the lot organized.
• Maintain the appearance of the yard; keep free of weeds and debris, plow and shovel snow.
• Load pallets into large dumpster using forklift or by hand.
• Assist drivers with staging and detailing of equipment that is going out for delivery.
• Safely operate a forklift.
• Basic mechanical work, i.e. fill flat tires, battery jumps and changes.
• Clean and detail new, pre-owned, demo, and customer equipment.
• Maintain a clean and professional work environment.
• Maintain cleanliness of shop, sweeping, trash removal, and wood crating materials
• Safely and effectively use several types of repair/service tools: pressure washer, hand, and power tools.
• Effectively work within a team to meet customer needs.
• Perform other duties as necessary and requested to successfully complete the job.

Education and/or Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.
• Mechanical aptitude required.
• Technical degree preferred.
• Ability to safely operate equipment and machines.
• Ability to recognize problem and initiate a solution.
• Possess excellent organizational skills.
• Self-starter.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.
• Strong customer service/communication skills.
• Safely and effectively use several types of repair/service tools: pressure washer, hand and power tools.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; drive; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. There is frequent holding and grasping with the hands.

Lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. required on a regular basis.

Work Environment
Work is performed indoors in a shop environment and outdoors on equipment. There is exposure to extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas and/or fumes.

MTI offers a wage of $24.50 - $26.50 per hour; based upon the qualifications of the selected candidate. Our benefit program includes: 401(k), medical, dental, vision disability and life insurance, PTO and holiday pay.
