Position Description
A Seasonal Maintenance Tech II employee performs manual and unskilled maintenance work at various city park buildings and assists in the daily cleanup of park shelters and other facilities.
Essential Functions- Perform general cleaning of City-owned facilities as assigned using a variety of equipment and hand tools.
- Collect waste and recyclables for disposal.
- Ensure restroom toiletry supplies are restocked.
- Mop floors and clean walls.
- Respond to immediate cleaning needs.
- Clean and sanitize spills.
- Touch up painting and perform minor maintenance repairs.
- Use proper personal protective equipment as required.
- Water planted pots, clean parking ramps, sidewalks, and weeding within the 50th and France Business district.
- Communicate courteously, professionally and maintain working relationships with others in carrying out job functions.
- Perform all duties in compliance with safety guidelines, using proper PPE and body mechanics.
- Schedule may vary depending on demands.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver's license. The job requires the ability to read instructions, calculate proportions, and communicate verbally with the public or City employees.
Physical RequirementsDaily lift and/or carry equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds. Assistive devices are available. Frequent standing/walking, pushing/pulling, bending/kneeling/squatting, and grasp and reach for routine assigned tasks.
Working ConditionsThis job is performed indoors (within city park buildings) and outdoors. Expected exposures include inclement weather, outdoor allergens, slippery surfaces, uneven ground, noise from equipment operations, exposure to hazardous chemicals and body fluids, dirt and grease, and sharp tools. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is used for identified hazards.
