The position will work at the University ReUse Program Warehouse and is responsible for organizing/cleaning the sales floor and related tasks in a warehouse setting. This is a Temporary or Casual non-academic appointment that is either (1) short-term, 67 workdays or less (temporary) in a calendar year or (2) characterized by schedules that are variable, intermittent, on-call and consistently 14 hours a week or less (casual).
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The person in this role will be responsible for organizing materials on the sales floor to ensure a clean, inviting and safe environment. A friendly deemer, fast work ethic and ability to be professional are required. This position will remove old unsold surplus property from the sales floor and sort that material into recycling streams when appropriate. Keeping the warehouse free of clutter and obstacles are primary tasks such as: daily cleaning, sweeping and organizing.

Required
The following demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
* Must be dependable and on time.
* Ability to stand and walk in a warehouse environment for extended periods of time.
* Must be able to lift approximately 50 pounds, frequent lifting up to 20 lbs., occasional lifting and carrying of 30-50 lbs., occasional reaching above, at and below shoulder height, twist, bend/stoop, squat, kneel, climb ladders and stairs and work at elevations.
* Flexible schedules but availability to work Thursday's and Saturday's is preferred.
* Interact with the general public, University of Minnesota faculty, staff and students in a professional and courteous manner.
* Efficiently function as an individual and member of a team in a fast past warehouse environment.
* Ability to complete routine assigned tasks and special projects without constant oversight.
* Must learn and be able to share the mission and values of the ReUse Program with the general public and University of Minnesota faculty/staff.
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $16.25 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
