Shift: School year Monday through Friday 6:30am to 3:00pm
Summer hours Monday through Thursday 6:30am to 5:00pm

The position is performed in a busy elementary school environment with students and staff present during the shift.

• Must be 18 years old.
• Must be able to speak English.
• A pre-employment criminal background check is required.
• Able to lift up to 30lbs.
• Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Cleaning duties include, but are not limited to:

• Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors throughout.
• Waste removal: collecting and disposing of trash from bins throughout the building.
• Restrooms: cleaning and sanitizing, restocking supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels).
• Surface cleaning: dusting, wiping and sanitizing surfaces, fixtures and furniture.
• Unlocking doors, turning lights on, setting up for breakfast & lunch, cleaning up after meals, emptying trash, sweeping floors, auto-scrubbing floors, cleaning media centre, school offices & break room, policing hallways, restrooms and entrances, picking up mail, burnishing floors weekly, setting up for gym events.
• During winter, maintain outside entrances and sidewalks and spread ice melt.
• Operate vacuum cleaner, auto‑scrubber, hard floor burnisher, and carpet extractor.
