About the Job
The position is located at the University ReUse Program Warehouse in Twin Cities and is part‑time, temporary or casual. The role involves organizing and cleaning the sales floor, removing unsold surplus property, sorting recycling streams, and maintaining a clean, safe warehouse environment.
ResponsibilitiesOrganize materials on the sales floor to ensure a clean, inviting, safe environment. Remove old unsold surplus property and sort materials into recycling streams when appropriate. Keep the warehouse free of clutter and obstacles through daily cleaning, sweeping, and organizing.
Qualifications- Must be dependable and on time.
- Ability to stand and walk in a warehouse environment for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift approximately 50 pounds; frequent lifting up to 20 lbs.; occasional lifting and carrying of 30‑50 lbs.; occasional reaching above, at and below shoulder height, twist, bend/stoop, squat, kneel, climb ladders and stairs and work at elevations.
- Flexible schedules but availability to work Thursday’s and Saturday’s is preferred.
- Interact with the general public, University of Minnesota faculty, staff and students in a professional and courteous manner.
- Efficiently function as an individual and member of a team in a fast‑paced warehouse environment.
- Ability to complete routine assigned tasks and special projects without constant oversight.
- Must learn and be able to share the mission and values of the ReUse Program with the general public and University of Minnesota faculty/staff.
Pay Range: $16.25 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor‑Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications.
