Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
As a Maintenance Technician, this position is responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting of the mechanical, electrical, and controls aspects of production machinery. Work will be done in compliance with current regulatory guidelines, national, state and local laws, company policies and safety requirements. These activities can include but are not limited to: machine rebuilding, machine electrical troubleshooting and repair, mechanical troubleshooting and repair;
preventative/predictive maintenance; control system troubleshooting, maintenance and general fabrication.
We are open to hiring this role at multiple levels. Depending on experience, education, and certifications, the hourly pay rate for this role will range from $27/hr to $34/hr.
This individual will work 3rd shift (Sunday through Thursday 10:00pm-6:00am). An additional $2.25 in shift pay will be added to the base hourly rate for 3rd shift.
Job Duties- Responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting of the Processing, Manufacturing and Packaging equipment from an electrical and mechanical standpoint.
- Performs machine rebuilding, repair and troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and may move equipment.
- Completes general work orders and interfaces with other technicians across all shifts in a team environment.
- Continuously looks for and helps to implement improvements to the process, productivity, quality and reduce costs. Performs special projects and other related duties specific to the department as assigned.
- Requires completion of a high school diploma, General Education Development (GED) or equivalent
- Must possess a solid background in equipment repair with the ability to perform installation, alteration and repair of machinery and components.
- Must display knowledge of Electrical systems and apply to machine repair and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong oral and written communication skills required.
- Ability to interpret and work from Blueprints and schematics.
- Must possess good math and reading comprehension skills and be able to read, speak and comprehend instructions in English or language of country as applicable, including procedure documents, as well as proofread alpha and numeric data.
- May require own transportation to drive between facilities as applicable.
- Experience in a pharmaceutical, Federal Drug Administration (FDA), other controlled regulatory agency or Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) packaging or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Fabrication knowledge: tig weld, mill, lathe, hand tools and threading. Advanced fabrication knowledge: CNC set-up and operations, repair product contact parts with Tig welding and polishing and lathe turning preferred.
- Intermediate AC/DC and 3 phase electrical understanding
- Knowledge of pneumatic/hydraulic systems
- Basic PLC and VFD knowledge
- Related technical degree and/or 2-4 years of experience
