evening shift (3:00 pm – 11:30 pm), at least 64 hours every 2‑week pay period, may include weekends, holidays, and other business needs.
Hourly pay: $20.87 – $25.88 (annual $43,577 – $54,037). Part‑time. Health and dental benefits are offered.
Job Description:
Perform a variety of internal and external maintenance, cleaning and laundry tasks in a resident care setting. Responsibilities include cleaning floors, windows, walls, furniture, restrooms, sidewalks, handling laundry, operating and maintaining equipment, and making minor repairs.
- Maintain floors and hallways using vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and scrubbing.
- Clean windows, walls, curtain dividers and window treatments using appropriate agents.
- Dust, rearrange furniture; set up or take down tables and chairs.
- Sanitize restrooms—scrubbing floors, sinks, and stools; manage supplies; empty trash.
- Shovel snow, apply sand or deicer, and remove ice and debris from state‑maintained sidewalks.
- Perform personal laundry—sorting and delivering residents’ clothes.
- Operate, maintain, and repair vacuums and other maintenance equipment.
Knowledge of:
- Various floor coverings, cleaning methods and equipment.
- Chemical cleaning agents—selection, safe application and disposal.
- Maintenance tools and repair procedures.
Ability to:
- Use hand tools; handle light materials.
- Work with ladders and scaffolding.
- Carry out laundry duties.
- Work in adverse weather conditions.
- Perform tasks independently.
- Perform minor mechanical repairs.
- Follow instructions, read manuals and keep simple records.
A Minnesota Department of Human Services background check and tuberculosis screening are required for finalists.
