This maintenance position will complete general apartment maintenance for a brand new, Class A building in Minneapolis. The ideal candidate would possess excellent communication and organization skills. Must have the ability to work independently with little supervision. A background in painting/drywall, minor electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair is a plus. This is a great opportunity to join a growing development firm and work in a variety of areas in the maintenance field.
Positionrequirements
- 2+ years experience with facilities or property maintenance, preferably in multi-family/apartments. This is not a role for anyone without relevant experience; this is a journeyman-level position. Entry-level roles may be available – view other postings on the Yellow Tree Jobs Board.

Key Responsibilities- Maintenance:
Maintain the general appearance and curb appeal of the property. - Complete routine preventative maintenance on building systems.
- Complete corrective maintenance in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, carpentry and other general maintenance.
- Coordinate and assist outside vendors working on building and/or equipment issues.
- Provide oversight and emergency response to all building equipment and systems.
- Perform necessary maintenance in residents’ apartments.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Assist with the turnover of apartments between residents.
- Complete building and apartment inspections as required or assigned.
- Involvement in completing special projects from time-to-time.
- Ensure property is meeting daily expectations, as dictated by company standards.
- Property and grounds walks expected regularly to ensure compliance, appearance, and safety standards are being met.
- Regularly communicate with Property Manager, corporate leadership, residents and ownership.
- Must have the ability to work weekends when necessary and be on-call as needed.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
- Address resident complaints, concerns and requests appropriately.
- Provide outstanding customer service and communication to the residents to enhance satisfaction and minimize apartment turnover.
- Create and maintain a positive living experience for all residents through prompt maintenance completion and follow-up.
- Move, push, pull and/or lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Use hands and arms for simple grasping, pushing and pulling.
- Handle containers of cleaning solutions/chemicals as directed.
- Walk, stoop, bend, lift, and carry objects as needed.
- Walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
- See objects closely and read directions and warnings.
- Communicate verbally and in writing; respond to calls and instructions.
- Climb ladders and operate power tools and equipment on a daily basis.
- This position will work both inside and outside across seasons and varying weather conditions.
- This is generally a day-shift position (Monday-Friday), with potential to work weekends, holidays and on-call evenings or overnight hours as needed for building maintenance and security.
- This position reports to the Regional Facilities Director.
- Partner with Property Management staff to ensure a safe and well-maintained community.
- Minimum of two years of experience in multi-family property maintenance; ideally for Class A buildings.
