Cleaning and Maintenance Staff

Duties

The Cleaning and Maintenance Staff is responsible for:

Cleaning lodging guest rooms, corridors, stairways, facilities, and other assigned lodging areas.

Using brooms, mops, lightweight vacuum cleaners, and lightweight floor scrubbers and buffers.

Cleaning and sanitizing guest room appliances, cooking utensils, and dishes.

Emptying wastebaskets.

Washing walls, windows, and blinds that can be reached unassisted or using stepping stools. Changing bed linen and making beds. Collecting soiled linen and placing it at a pickup point.

Receiving clean linen and delivering it where directed.

Updating room status, occupancy, and checkouts using the telephone system.

Cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls.

Restocking toilet tissue, hand towels, soap, and other complimentary sundry items.

Notifying the supervisor when more materials are needed or when equipment needs repair or replacement.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
