Position SummaryAeon is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the maintenance team at The Rose, The Jourdain, Pine Cliff, and The Wellstone, supporting a four-building community of 210 affordable and market-rate apartment homes in South Minneapolis. This full-time, Monday–Friday position has no on‑call responsibilities, offering a predictable schedule while providing meaningful work that helps ensure residents have safe, well‑maintained homes.
As the Maintenance Technician, you'll play an essential role in supporting residents by ensuring their homes and shared spaces are safe, functional, and well maintained. Through responsive repairs, preventative maintenance, apartment turnovers, and daily property upkeep, you'll help create an environment where residents can thrive and feel proud to call their community home.
Working closely with the Property Manager, Building Technicians, vendors, and other team members, you'll perform a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks while contributing to the overall appearance, safety, and operation of the property. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in quality workmanship, values strong customer service, and wants to make a meaningful impact through their work.
This position reports to the Senior Property Manager.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Maintenance & Repairs- Complete maintenance service requests in a timely, professional, and resident‑focused manner.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide variety of building systems and apartment components, including:
- Plumbing fixtures and systems
- Electrical fixtures and minor electrical repairs
- Appliances
- Air handlers and general HVAC equipment
- Locks, keys, and door hardware
- Interior finishes, including drywall, flooring, trim, and paint touch‑ups
- Doors, cabinets, light fixtures, window coverings, and other building components
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to extend the life of building systems and equipment while helping reduce unexpected repairs.
- Identify maintenance concerns before they become larger issues and recommend appropriate corrective action.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work orders, inspections, and preventative maintenance activities.
- Prepare vacant apartments for new residents by completing repairs, cleaning‑related maintenance tasks, and quality inspections.
- Ensure apartment homes meet Aeon's standards for safety, functionality, and appearance prior to move‑in.
- Maintain the overall cleanliness, safety, and curb appeal of the property, including interior common areas and exterior grounds, in partnership with Aeon's Building Technicians and vendors.
- Perform regular trash removal, trash area maintenance, and debris cleanup throughout the property.
- Monitor the condition of building systems, common areas, and grounds, reporting issues that require additional attention.
- Assist with seasonal property maintenance, including light snow removal, salting, sanding walkways, and other weather‑related responsibilities.
