Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, General Labor, Event Staff/ Venue Crew

Overview: This is a casual appointment that will support completing instrument repairs for both
Marching and Athletic Bands and the School of Music during the academic year. The
School of Music is located at Ferguson Hall on the West Bank at the University of Minnesota
Twin Cities campus. Marching and Athletic Bands is located at the Huntington Bank Stadium at
the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus.
Duties will include:
- Attend each home game, from three hours before kickoff until halftime (approx. 5
hours/game) for Marching and Athletic Bands. - Attend one class period each week of the fall semester (3:30-6:30) for Marching and
Athletic Bands. - Assist with instrument repair at the end of the fall semester and spring semester for
Marching and Athletic Bands. - Assist with instrument repairs for the School of Music (additionally) as needed.
Hours: Hours will not exceed 14 hours per week and will vary by semester. Reporting time will
be expected of the employee.
Rate: $30 per hour.
Appointment Dates: August 31, 2026 - May 30, 2027.
Reports To: Betsy McCann, Director of Marching and Athletic Bands.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with repairing instruments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous work experience in the School of Music or Marching and Athletic Bands
Pay Range: $30 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
