Position Summary

Aeon is seeking a highly skilled Roving Maintenance Technician to provide experienced, hands‑on maintenance support across Aeon's portfolio of affordable and market‑rate apartment communities throughout the Twin Cities. This full‑time, Monday–Friday position has no on‑call responsibilities and offers a consistent 8am to 4:30pm schedule, while providing the variety and challenge of working across multiple communities and building types.

As a Roving Maintenance Technician, you'll serve as a versatile maintenance resource, responding where your skills are most needed across the portfolio. You may provide coverage during staffing vacancies or absences, help properties address high‑priority or more complex maintenance needs, support apartment turnover efforts, complete preventative maintenance, assist with inspections, and contribute to special maintenance projects.

This position requires a strong technical foundation, sound judgment, and the ability to independently diagnose and resolve a wide range of maintenance issues. Because you'll regularly transition between properties, success also requires adaptability, organization, initiative, and the ability to quickly understand the needs and priorities of each community.

Working closely with onsite staff, vendors, and other Aeon team members, you'll help strengthen maintenance operations across the portfolio while ensuring residents receive responsive, professional, and high‑quality service.

This position reports to the Director of Maintenance.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Skilled Maintenance & Repairs
  • Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, and complete a broad range of maintenance repairs, applying sound technical judgment to determine appropriate solutions.
  • Complete maintenance service requests efficiently, accurately, and professionally, with a strong focus on quality workmanship and resident service.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and maintain apartment and building components and systems, including:
    • Plumbing fixtures, piping, valves, drains, toilets, faucets, and related systems
    • Electrical fixtures, switches, outlets, lighting, and other electrical components within the scope of the position
    • Appliances and associated components
    • Air handlers, HVAC components, thermostats, and related equipment
    • Locks, keys, doors, closers, and hardware
    • Drywall, flooring, trim, cabinetry, and interior finishes
    • Windows, window coverings, light fixtures, and other building components
  • Evaluate maintenance issues to determine whether repairs can be completed internally or require specialized vendor support.
  • Identify underlying causes of recurring maintenance issues rather than addressing symptoms alone.
