- Diagnose and repair issues across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
- Lead and execute apartment turns to meet move-in deadlines and quality standards
- Prioritize, complete, and close out service requests efficiently and professionally
- Oversee preventative maintenance schedules and ensure consistent execution
- Coordinate and manage third-party vendors as needed
- Maintain organized shop, inventory, and supply levels
- Ensure property interior and exterior maintain a clean, safe, and high-quality appearance
- Provide exceptional customer service to our residents, prospects, and property owners
- Build Serenity brand loyalty by striving to ensure resident interaction is positive
- Follow and adhere to all Fair Housing Laws
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues and respond promptly to requests
- Assist with room setups, equipment/furniture moves, and seasonal building tasks
- Occasional after-hours needs
- High school diploma or GED required; additional specialized training (less than two years) in maintenance or a related field preferred
- Advanced training or experience in electrical, mechanical, or building systems strongly preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar maintenance role
- Proven ability to supervise staff, including scheduling, prioritizing workloads, and delegating tasks effectively
- Experience obtaining and negotiating bids for contracted services preferred
- Proficiency with computers and maintenance tracking systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; must meet eligibility requirements for company vehicle insurance
- Ability to successfully pass required background checks
- Must comply with all Serenity policies, procedures, and required trainings, including orientation and annual education requirements
- Must maintain required health screenings, including Quanti
FERON, Mantoux test, or chest X-ray, as applicable
As a Maintenance Technician at Serenity, this individual serves as the on-site maintenance leader and technical expert. Responsibilities include diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining all building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs. This role requires the ability to independently prioritize work orders, coordinate with vendors, and support overall property operations.
The Technician plays a critical role in delivering an exceptional resident experience through timely responsiveness, high-quality workmanship, and effective preventative maintenance practices. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, sound decision-making, and a high level of ownership and accountability for the property’s maintenance performance.
