SUMMARY

The janitor will provide part-time cleaning services to maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment. The position consists of two shifts per week, each lasting 3–4 hours—typically one shift on Saturday and one on Sunday (with occasional substitution of Friday for Saturday). Total weekly hours are expected to range from 6 to 10 hours. The janitor must also be available, with advance notice, to provide weekday (Monday through Friday) coverage for the full-time janitor during absences such as illness or vacation.
This position is Service Contract Act which is subject to Health & Welfare benefits.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Disinfect and dust surfaces and fixtures
- Clean floors and carpets
- Clean and maintain storage in restrooms, shower rooms, and locker rooms
- Empty wastebaskets
- Clean windows and glass
- Clean outside hard surface areas
- Police inside and outside areas of trash
- Assist with snow and ice removal
- Dust and wash blinds and coverings
- Respond to custodial work orders according to their priority
- Practice green cleaning techniques
- Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations regarding cleaning solutions and disposal
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
- At least one year commercial cleaning experience
- Must submit to and receive a favorable suitability determination from the GSA Office of Personnel Management for unescorted access to facilities
- Must submit to and receive a favorable background criminal history check by name and date of birth from State of Residence
- Continually required to stand

- Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
- Continually required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
- Frequently required to talk or hear
- Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather)
- Occasional work near moving mechanical parts
- Occasional work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals
- Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions
- Noise level in the work environment is usually quiet
- Occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds
