Location: Odessa

GD Resources LLC is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitorial Services Technician to perform custodial and cleaning services at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Headquarters Office and Shop Building located at Big Stone National Wildlife Refuge in Odessa, Minnesota.

The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and professional facility environment in accordance with federal facility standards. Work must be performed in a safe, consistent, and high-quality manner to ensure the facility remains presentable and fully operational.
Work Schedule
  • Services performed weekends only
    • After 4:30 PM on Fridays, or anytime Saturday/Sunday
  • Base period of performance: 08/01/2026 - 07/31/2027
  • Up to four (4) option years based on funding availability
  • Flexible scheduling within authorized weekend work windows
Key Responsibilities
General Cleaning & Facility Maintenance
  • Vacuum all carpeted areas and remove stains as needed
  • Clean and sanitize glass doors, handles, windows, and entryways
  • Dust and clean furniture, desks (when cleared), shelves, and office equipment
  • Remove spider webs and dust wall corners and ceiling junctions
  • Clean windows monthly or more frequently as needed
  • Clean door frames, wood surfaces, and interior doors
  • Sweep and mop all applicable floor surfaces including unfinished concrete areas
Restroom & Sanitation Services
  • Clean, disinfect, and sanitize all restroom surfaces:
    • Toilets, urinals, sinks, counters, mirrors, partitions, and dispensers
  • Restock supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels, sanitary liners)
  • Sweep and mop restroom floors
  • Remove trash and ensure proper disposal in designated dumpsters
  • Maintain a hygienic and odor-free restroom environment
Breakroom & Office Areas
  • Clean kitchenette surfaces including sinks, countertops, tables, and refrigerator tops
  • Restock soap and paper towels
  • Sweep and mop breakroom floors
  • Vacuum upholstered furniture monthly
  • Clean conference room floors bi-weekly and mop monthly or as needed
Waste Management
  • Empty all trash receptacles throughout the facility
  • Replace liners and securely tie waste bags
  • Transport all trash to designated dumpster in headquarters parking lot
Shop Building Cleaning
  • Clean and disinfect restroom facilities in shop building
  • Restock restroom supplies as needed
  • Sweep and mop floors
  • Remove spider webs and maintain sanitary conditions
  • Ensure full restroom hygiene compliance
Key Requirements
  • Ability to perform physical cleaning duties in a government facility
  • Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards
  • Ability to follow structured cleaning schedules and procedures
  • Must pass required background check
  • Ability to work independently during off-hours/weekends
  • Reliable transportation to job site in Odessa, MN
Compliance & Standards
  • Must follow all federal facility cleanliness standards
  • Use cleaning methods that do not damage surfaces or materials
  • No unauthorized duplication of government-issued keys
  • Strict adherence to security and access control requirements
  • Compliance with all applicable Minnesota licensing, bonding, and insurance requirements
Quality Assurance Expectations
  • Maintain high-quality custodial performance in all assigned areas
  • Follow established cleaning frequency schedules (bi-weekly, monthly, etc.)
  • Identify and report facility issues or maintenance concerns
  • Support continuous improvement in cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Participate in quality control procedures as required by contract
Government-Furnished Resources
  • All cleaning equipment and supplies provided by the Government, including:
    • Cleaning tools and equipment
    • Paper products and trash bags
    • Soap and restroom consumables
  • Contractor is responsible for labor, supervision, transportation, and execution of services
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Experience in janitorial or custodial services preferred
  • Familiarity with commercial cleaning standards
  • Strong reliability and attention to detail
  • Ability to work unsupervised during weekend shifts
  • Professional conduct in federal/government environments
