Custodian - Giants Ridge

Compensation

18.00 USD per hour.

The Custodian maintains clean, orderly, and attractive public areas within the unit and responds to guests’ requests efficiently and pleasantly.

• Ensure assigned areas are clean and neat as directed by management.
• Deliver supplies to assigned areas of the facility.
• Vacuum all halls, lobbies, and edges.
• Mop and clean all floors in assigned areas.
• Shampoo carpets as directed by management.
• Clean all hall railings, marks on walls, stairwells, and lockers.
• Pull trash and recyclables from receptacles and replace trash bags as needed.
• Clear trash and recyclables from tables, floors, and grounds.
• Clean bathrooms and maintain supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, soap dispensers, and toilet seat covers.
• Clean glass surfaces and windows.
• Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Maintain awareness of safety issues and report them immediately to management.
• Notify management regarding the needs for repairs to facilities or equipment.
• Perform other job duties as assigned by management.

• Partial high school education; high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• Strong sanitation habits and ability to learn and follow important safety precautions.
• Strong customer service abilities; actively looks for ways to assist customers and coworkers.
• Ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and communicate it to management.

• Move about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements within the unit.
• Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently.
• Lift, carry, and push up to 35 lbs. regularly, 45 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Stand and/or walk for the entire work day and climb steps regularly.
• Withstand temperature extremes in indoor and outdoor environments.
• Work in wet, slippery, hot, and damp conditions; frequently immerse hands in water.
• Read and write work‑related documents in English;
• Speak clearly so you can be understood by customers and coworkers in English.
• Communicate and receive verbal communication with other employees in a fast‑paced environment.
• Answer calls for assistance in a timely manner.
• Travel between locations of the resort.
• Valid driver's license required; physical presence at the job site is essential.
