Head Custodian

Goodhue Public Schools is seeking a motivated, dependable, and skilled Head Custodian to lead the maintenance and custodial operations of our district. This position plays a vital role in providing a safe, clean, and well-maintained learning environment for students, staff, and the community as we continue Growing Good People.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the work of custodial staff.
• Maintain and operate the district's boiler, HVAC, and building systems.
• Perform and oversee preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure school buildings and grounds are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
• Coordinate seasonal grounds work, including snow removal and athletic field preparation.
• Monitor building safety systems and maintain compliance with OSHA and fire safety requirements.
• Maintain inventories of custodial and maintenance supplies.
• Recommend and coordinate annual maintenance projects.
• Complete staff evaluations and support the training and development of custodial staff.

Qualifications:

• A Minnesota First Class C Boiler License is preferred. Candidates who do not currently hold a boiler license but are willing to obtain one with district support are encouraged to apply.
• Experience in building maintenance, including basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and grounds maintenance.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Compensation: $65,, depending on experience and qualifications. Comprehensive benefits package consistent with district policies and negotiated agreements.
